I don’t think Liam has faced my sleep walking or talking during our relationship, but both my mother and I sleep walk, talk and in several cases, make coffee (priorities). In her case, she once chased me through the house at three o clock in the morning resulting in some kind of horror-story-esque hiding in my bedroom. Sleep shopping, however, is something I’ve yet to do. Until now, anyway.
Last week I woke up when Liam was getting up for work at five thirty in the morning, and found myself scrolling through Instagram. The last thing I remember is seeing a promo picture from Make Up Revolution that their Salvation Intense Lacquers and Velvet Lacquers were on a three for two deal, and after that my memory is blank until I woke up at 9.
I woke up at 9 to a receipt in my inbox not only with three new lipsticks, but three more new lipsticks and an eyeshadow palette. Do I have no self control? Apparently not, but I had somehow rummaged through my emails fr a 20% discount codes which meant I got all of the above for just over a tenner.
#Liphug by Makeup Revolution
These lipsticks were one of the “surprise” purchases from my order and I love them. I got the shades “When You Came To Me”, a super pretty, glossy nude; “To Get Lucky”, a very muted berry-red which is absolutely stunning on the lips; and “I Am Ready!”, a lovely bright red shade (because we can never have too many red lipsticks, amiright?
The formula of these is so, so much better than other Make Up Revolution lipsticks I’ve tried (which is pretty much only their Amazing Lipsticks, which I wrote about here)- it’s creamy and moisturising, is vaguely glossy but not too high-shine, and although the shades are bold they’re more a kiss of colour, as opposed to opaque and blocky.
Salvation Lacquer by Make Up Revolution
I should point out here that the accidental black lipstick I bought was from this range- the shade black heart, which I actually don’t hate (there’s a picture of it all up in my Instagram if you fancy a snoop). This time I got the right shades though, “Velvet Rebel” which I think might actually be my favourite lipstick of Autumn – a gorgeous deep berry shade that dries matte, and no matter how many times I kiss Daisy or shove ice cream in my face it does not move. I also ended up with “What I Believe”, a pretty almost-bubblegum matte pink that I feel will be more suitable for a heavy-eye make up day or perhaps even for spring. Finally I also got “A Love Like That” – a glossy red from the Intense Lacquer collection. I’m not usually a fan of glossy bold shades but this one I actually don’t mind at all.
Awesome Eyeshadow Palettes
It’s no secret that Makeup Revolution do some fantastic eyeshadow palettes- in fact they seem quite well know in general for being a brilliant dupe brand providing cheap alternatives to brands like Urban Decay and Too Faced. This pretty little thing – Disappear Into The Beyond – was apparently in the last chance to buy section of their site, and is one I’ve never seen before. This palette contains 12 shades, a mix of largely shimmers with a couple of mattes (my kind of palettes) and is composed of some lovely neutral autumnal shades that I can’t take my eyes off. I’ve swatched a couple of shades from it and they’re so, so pigmented and blend beautifully, I can’t wait to get some use from it.
I also received these two gorgeous samples – the Goddess of Love Highlighter sample, and the Blushing Hearts blush sample. My one complaint with Makeup Revolution is that I have lusted after the blushing hearts range f o r e v e r and have literally never seen it in a store. Same goes for their pro-lipsticks, #liphug lipsticks and pretty much any product I really love. I’m not a huge fan of buying online because I seem to always get the shades wrong (an issue I’ve had with Makeup Revolution before). That’s a story for another day though. I’m yet to try these but I am so busy heart eyeing over them I’ll no doubt be swatching them in no time!
Have you tried any of these products before? What are some of your faves from Make Up Revolution?
