I must admit, it’s rare I’m swayed by subscription boxes. Being cruelty-free and vegan really narrows the market, and honestly I can be so fussy that I worry I’d be paying for products I won’t like anyway. The LoleLula subscription is one of the few exceptions. As you may well know by now, I’m trying to be a little more au naturel with my beauty – the higher quality the ingredients, the better. LoveLula’s box offers 5 organic, cruelty-free products per month, most usually being full size, straight to your door. Right up my alley, if you ask me!
This is actually my third month of receiving the box, all three so far have been lovely. It’s a little surprise to myself each month. This month, in particular, is one I’m glad to have the chance to blog about.
Lyonsleaf Marshmallow Softening Facial Oil
Okay so we all know I’m a sucker for a good facial oil. For someone trying to be a little more minimalist, my bathroom is slowly being taken over by them. This one is vegan (woohoo!), and packed with gorgeous ingredients to soften and rejuvenate the skin. It’s packed with 2% marshmallow extract and complimented by rosehip, boabab, calendula, and avocado oil. There’s a scent to this oil that isn’t unpleasant, but a little more strong than I usually expect from a facial oil. So far after about a week of trying this out, it’s been a lovely experience. The oil is lighter than I was expecting, non-greasy in feel and relatively quick to absorb. It’s not one for morning application, for sure, but it’s also not one that will smear all over your pillows either.
Will I repurchase?: Probably, because I’m a fiend.

Madara Smart Fine Line Minimising Cream
I’ll preface this by pointing out that while I am due to turn 25, I’m not quite in need of anti-aging products just yet. That being said, I have been using this for about a week and it’s been a pleasant surprise. Also vegan, this cream contains lichen, moss, fern, and alchemila extracts that are packed with anti oxidants, and is designed to plump up your skin. It’s a lovely light moisturiser, unscented and again very non-greasy in formula. It’s been a treat for my dry skin, but perhaps not something I’ll need just yet.
Will I repurchase?: Perhaps not just yet, although I have enjoyed using the sample.

Ren Satin Finish BB Cream
I was happy to discover this in my LoveLula subscription box this month as I’m always on the look out for a good BB cream in summer. Unfortunately, I don’t know that I’ll be repurchasing this one. The sample was tiny, and it really felt that the product wasn’t really going anywhere on my face. I did notice some colour correction and it was super non-greasy – it felt like there was nothing there shortly after application. With that being said, it is vegan-friendly, SPF 15 and packed full of lovely ingredients (Noni extract, ochroleuca seaweed extract, arctic cranberry seed oil, magnesium and vitamin C). This BB cream is supposed to be moisturising, protecting, brightening and firming, and perhaps it will be in a bigger sample where I can play with application properly.
Will I repurchase?: Probably not based on this first impression

PHB Ethical Beauty Vegan Mascara
Mascara is one of the products I’ve struggled a bit with since going more natural with my beauty products. Most natural mascaras I’ve tried don’t have much payoff, and can be a bit smudgy. When my LoveLula subscription provided a full-size vegan mascara, I couldn’t have been any happier. I’m becoming a bit of a PHB addict of late – I use their moisturisers, eye creams and hair care already, so I’m turning into a bit of a fangirl. This mascara comes with a big, bushy applicator, and is a rich, dark black. So far it’s been a lovely choice – it’s not yet clumped, flaked off or smudged all over my face which is always a joy, and so far seems to help my lashes hold a curl for most of the day. A bigger bonus yet is that my eyes haven’t had any signs of irritation and since it’s so easy to remove, I don’t have to scrub my eyes to get rid of it either.
Will I repurchase: Yes.

John Masters Scalp Stimulating Shampoo
I’ve said it before and will say it again, I’m still yet to meet a John Master’s product I haven’t fallen in love with, and this is no exception. Once again vegan friendly, this shampoo contains spearmint, peppermint and meadowsweet to freshen up your scalp and give your hair some oomph. I love a good tingly shampoo, and this one helps to remove any root build up but doesn’t leave my hair super tangled, as some other natural products do. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the scent – to me it’s fresh and lovely but it doesn’t hang around for too long in your hair if that’s something that concerns you.
Will I repurchase? Yes.

Overall I think it’s been a great month for my Lovelula Subscription! Are there any products you’d like to try?
